U.S. President Donald Trump, has arrived in the United Kingdom for a historic second state visit.

Trump and First Lady Melania landed at London Stansted Airport on Tuesday evening aboard Air Force One. They were welcomed by U.S. and British officials before being flown by helicopter to Winfield House, the U.S. ambassador’s official residence in Regent’s Park.

The visit, set to last two days, will include meetings with King Charles at Windsor Castle, military parades, and a possible flypast by British and American F-35 jets. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that more than 1,300 personnel and 120 horses will take part in ceremonial events, making it one of the largest state visit welcomes ever staged.

Despite the official pomp, Trump’s arrival sparked protests. Around 70 demonstrators gathered outside Windsor Castle, chanting slogans and holding placards. The Stop Trump Coalition has planned further demonstrations in central London on Wednesday. Police also reported four arrests after images of Trump and Jeffrey Epstein were projected onto the castle walls.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan criticised Trump’s record, accusing him of promoting divisive politics and targeting minorities. “The special relationship between the UK and the U.S. means being honest with each other, even when that requires speaking truth to power,” he said.

While many voiced opposition, some showed support. Anne Daley, a Trump supporter from Cardiff, held a cardboard cutout of him and wore a “Make America Great Again” hat, saying she hoped his visit could help promote peace.

Trump is expected to attend a ceremonial welcome with King Charles, featuring gun salutes in Windsor and at the Tower of London, a carriage procession, and a state banquet with musical performances. He will also meet Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Chequers in Buckinghamshire before departing.
