The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has officially launched the Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign aimed at protecting children from preventable diseases.
The campaign, unveiled at Lagos House, Ikeja, targets children between the ages of 9 months and 14 years. It forms part of the government’s integrated supplemental immunisation strategy to curb the spread of measles and rubella, both of which pose serious health risks but can be prevented through timely vaccination.
Speaking at the launch, the First Lady urged parents and guardians to take advantage of the exercise by ensuring that their children are vaccinated. She emphasised that the campaign represents a major step in safeguarding the health and future of young people across the state.
The initiative is supported by the Lagos State Government and will be rolled out across designated health facilities. Authorities stressed that full participation is key to achieving the desired impact of reducing child morbidity and preventing possible outbreaks.
