Nigeria’s leading airline, Air Peace, has announced a new charter flight service connecting Africa and the Caribbean, marking a major milestone in intercontinental air travel.
The airline revealed that it would operate monthly charter services between Lagos and Accra to Antigua and Barbados, with onward connections to Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago.
According to a statement by the airline’s spokesperson, Osifo Whiskey Efe, the new route is designed to boost tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between Africa and the Caribbean. The service is expected to strengthen the historic ties between both regions while providing new travel opportunities for passengers.
“This new route represents a major step in Air Peace’s commitment to expanding Africa’s connectivity as the only carrier with direct flights from West and Central Africa to the Caribbean,” the statement said. “It will create new gateways for African travellers to explore the Caribbean and promote collaboration between the two regions.”
Air Peace has been gradually extending its international reach over the past few years. The airline previously operated successful charter flights such as the Lagos Montego Bay (Jamaica) service in 2020 and the Abuja St. Kitts and Nevis operation earlier in 2025. These flights helped lay the groundwork for the current initiative to establish stronger interregional links.
The company emphasized that the move is part of its broader vision to bridge continents and foster greater connectivity for Africans. By creating direct flight options between Africa and the Caribbean, Air Peace hopes to encourage tourism growth, improve trade relations, and celebrate shared cultural heritage.
The airline continues to position itself as a key player in the international aviation market, championing Africa’s presence on the global stage. The introduction of this new service demonstrates Air Peace’s determination to open new travel corridors and redefine Africa’s role in global air transport.
