The Super Falcons of Nigeria are set to face the Benin Republic in the first leg of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers on Friday, October 24, 2025.

The match will be held at the Stade de Kégué in Lomé, Togo, due to Benin’s lack of a CAF-approved stadium, making Togo the neutral venue for this encounter.

This fixture marks the beginning of the final round of WAFCON qualifiers, with both teams aiming to secure a spot in the tournament scheduled to take place in Morocco in 2026. The Super Falcons, as reigning champions, are determined to maintain their dominance in African women’s football and have set their sights on a strong performance in the first leg.

Head coach Justine Madugu has emphasized the importance of starting the qualifiers with a convincing victory. According to her, winning the first leg will make the return fixture in Abeokuta, Nigeria, much more manageable. The team has been preparing rigorously to ensure they set the tone for the two-legged tie.

The Benin Amazons, coached by Gernot Rohr, have shown progress and resilience in recent matches but face a daunting challenge against the experienced and talented Super Falcons. The Amazons hope to leverage the neutral venue to their advantage and secure a positive result in the opening leg.

The first leg is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 PM GMT. Viewers in Nigeria can watch the game live on SuperSport and NTA Sports, while international audiences can stream the match via FIFA+. Fans are also encouraged to follow live updates and commentary on sports news websites and social media platforms.

The return leg of the qualifier will take place on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abeokuta, Nigeria. Both teams will be keen to either consolidate or overturn the first-leg result as they battle for qualification into the 2026 WAFCON tournament, promising an exciting and competitive contest.
