PalmPay Limited has urged its customers across the country to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
The Managing Director of the financial technology platform, Chika Nwosu, made this known during a sensitization road walk held in Kano to raise awareness about rising online scam tactics targeting unsuspecting users.
Nwosu explained that the campaign was launched to ensure customers understand how to identify suspicious activities and protect themselves while using digital financial services. He noted that although reported cases of fraud on the platform have continued to reduce, the bank is determined to eliminate such risks completely to ensure a safe banking environment for all users.
According to him, the company aims to create what he described as a healthy financial ecosystem where users can transact without fear of manipulation by criminals. He emphasized that PalmPay remains committed to ensuring no customer becomes a victim of online fraud, stressing that safety remains one of the platform’s top priorities.
The Managing Director advised customers to remain cautious when interacting with links, messages, or notifications online. He warned that many fraudsters now disguise malicious links to trick people into providing personal details or gaining unauthorized access to their accounts. He urged users to verify all links before clicking, adding that any link that appears suspicious should be avoided entirely.
Nwosu further revealed that the decision to intensify awareness came after several complaints reached the company through social media channels and customer service lines. Although the reports are not increasing, he said the company cannot afford to relax simply because fraud attempts appear to be declining.
He concluded that PalmPay will continue to roll out campaigns and initiatives geared towards reducing fraud to zero, ensuring that customers across the country remain informed, empowered, and protected while using the platform.
