President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Saturday depart Abuja on a three-state tour of Borno, Bauchi and Lagos States, in a visit that combines governance, national solidarity, cultural engagement and end-of-year activities. The trip underscores the President’s continued interaction with sub-national governments and key segments of Nigerian society across regions.

Project Commissioning and Engagements in Borno

The President’s first port of call will be Maiduguri, Borno State, where he is scheduled to commission several projects executed by the Babagana Umara Zulum administration in collaboration with the Federal Government. The projects are part of ongoing efforts to deepen infrastructure development and accelerate socio-economic recovery in the North-East.

During the visit, President Tinubu will also attend the wedding ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno State Governor and Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and his bride, Hadiza Kam Salem, reflecting the blend of official and social engagements that will mark the tour.

Condolence Visit to Bauchi

From Maiduguri, the President will proceed to Bauchi State on a condolence visit to the state government and the family of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, the late revered Islamic scholar and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood.

Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, who passed away on November 27, was widely regarded as a major religious figure whose influence transcended Bauchi State. President Tinubu’s visit is expected to honour the cleric’s legacy and acknowledge his contributions to religious harmony and national cohesion.

Lagos and End-of-Year Activities

After the Bauchi engagement, President Tinubu will travel to Lagos State, where he will spend the end-of-year holidays. While in the nation’s commercial capital, the President is expected to undertake a number of engagements reflecting Lagos’ cultural and historical significance.

One of the highlights of his stay will be his role as Guest of Honour at the Eyo Festival, scheduled for December 27 at Tafawa Balewa Square. The festival will pay tribute to prominent personalities, including the President’s mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, as well as former Lagos State governors, Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Michael Otedola.

A Blend of Governance, Culture and Unity

The three-state visit encapsulates a mix of developmental oversight, condolence diplomacy and cultural celebration, reflecting the Tinubu administration’s emphasis on inclusive governance and national unity.

By engaging communities across the North-East, North-Central and South-West within a single tour, the President’s itinerary highlights the interconnectedness of governance, tradition and people-centred leadership as the year draws to a close.
