5 Ways To Get Inspired

People have different ways they get inspired.

It is absolutely normal to feel uninspired sometimes, its I an aspect of the creative process we have all experienced at some point in our lives. So whenever you feel uninspired, take solace in the fact that it happens to all of us; I sometimes feel uninspired too. Don’t be alarmed when you feel uninspired; there is a remedy for that.

The first thing to do when trying to feel or get inspired is to set a clear goal of what you want to achieve; whether it’s an article you want to write, a picture you want to paint or a problem you need to work through, without this, your efforts would be in vain. Inspiration could be found in the most obscure place; it could be found in the bird’s chirping, the whistle of the wind, or the colours of the leaves. Clear your mind so you could turn the inspiration into steps to achieving your goals.

If you are looking to get out of that uninspired slum, I’d advise you to stick around till the end of this article because I’d be sharing some tips or steps to get inspired.

Ways To Get Inspired

Change Your Environment

Step out of your comfort zone and visit a new place. A new environment makes you see things from a different perspective, and this can ignite inspiration. Surround yourself with things and people that energize you, whether it’s a beautiful sunset or an art gallery. You know what makes you happy, so make these things a part of your everyday life. These little things that make you happy have a way of making you see life from a positive point of view. a positive outlook on life keeps you inspired.

Learn Something New

Always remember to stretch your knowledge beyond its boundaries, do not limit yourself. Reading and researching can give you a fresh outlook on life, read anything and everything; stories, novels or articles. Reading and researching are what keeps me bringing new pieces every day.

Learn ten words in a foreign language, research something random like music in the 17th century. Strive to learn at least five new things each day.

Meditate

I can’t overemphasize the importance of meditation. Meditation is an activity that helps organize your thoughts. Take a break from the outside world, sit, relax and just breathe. Meditation is the refresh button for our brains.

Watch A Movie Or Listen To Music

I am sure many of you would agree with me when I say there is something powerful and inspiring about a good movie or song. I have this habit of researching the person behind a great film or good music, like when I first watched “Concussion”. They have a way of making you feel inspired.

Journal

Journaling is a healthy way of releasing thoughts and ideas, which can spark inspiration. Your journal could be a special place, just you and your words. Writing down what you feel within you.

Sometimes, in order to be inspired, all you need to do is start. Get out your working materials and just begin; inspiration could come in the process. I read in an article that to get inspired, you should fall in love. At first, it seemed ridiculous but come to think of it; love is a good inspiration for most artworks.

Inspiration, for me, comes from people who have accomplished what I want to accomplish or who are presently doing it. I like to read other blogs, books, magazines. I research random people and read success stories. Clean habits are a great source of inspiration, not only for me but for many other people who have achieved amazing things.
