In a candid revelation, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, expressed regret for persuading former PDP Chairman in Rivers State, Felix Obuah, and other gubernatorial aspirants to step down for Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Wike, at a thanksgiving service organized by Obuah in Omoku, sought forgiveness from the people of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area for not supporting Obuah’s bid to succeed him.

Wike acknowledged fulfilling his part of a peace accord initiated by President Bola Tinubu and endorsed by all parties involved in the state’s political issues.

Addressing the ONELGA community at the thanksgiving service, Wike admitted his mistake in denying Obuah the opportunity he deserved despite the latter’s support.

The former governor apologized to the people of ONELGA for a decision that caused hurt and emphasized the importance of acknowledging mistakes and making amends.

Wike expressed regret for not inheriting anything from his predecessor, highlighting the challenges he faced during and after his tenure. Despite accusations of being “wicked,” Wike affirmed his commitment to supporting his successor.

Regarding recent state crises, Wike pledged obedience to President Muhammadu Buhari’s directives, emphasizing the fulfillment of his team’s obligations.

The former governor urged others to sow positive actions, as reaping the consequences is inevitable.
