In a diplomatic endeavor spanning from February 5-9, Deputy Administrator Paloma Adams-Allen of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is set to traverse Ethiopia, Egypt, and Germany
Her mission involves strategic engagements with developmental and humanitarian partners, addressing pivotal workforce and operational matters.
Adams-Allen’s primary focus lies in bolstering support for USAID staff, amplifying Agency initiatives, and fortifying ongoing programs across eastern Africa and the Middle East.
During her Ethiopian sojourn, the Deputy Administrator will interact with female entrepreneurs, tech-savvy young innovators, and families actively participating in USAID initiatives. Additionally, she will collaborate with partners involved in the country’s humanitarian response efforts.
In Egypt, Adams-Allen will partake in a gathering with local staff from the Middle East and Europe, concentrating on staff engagement, career progression, and leveraging local expertise for sustained progress. Notably, she will also meet with USAID staff who have been displaced from Sudan.
Concluding her journey at USAID’s Frankfurt Support Center, encompassing the Middle East Regional Platform, the Deputy Administrator will spearhead meetings centered on USAID’s activities in the Middle East.
Key areas of discussion will include crisis response efforts and advancing USAID’s paramount objectives concerning localization and the empowerment of local employees.
