The Nigeria senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, faced a setback in their debut match at the 2025 Afrobasket Championship qualifier in Monastir, Tunisia.
Despite limited preparation time and only nine players available for the Nigerian squad, they suffered an 82-89 defeat to Libya after overtime.
This marked Libya’s return to the tournament for the first time since 2009.
D’Tigers will be hoping to bounce back in their subsequent group game encounter.
