The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has urged corps members in Osun to actively engage in the fight against corruption and social vices across the nation.
In an interview with NAN on Monday in Osogbo, Mrs. Winifred Ngboro, the Head of Public Enlightenment and Education Unit at the ICPC Osun office, emphasised the critical role of the ICPC in combating corrupt practices in Nigeria. Ngboro stressed that collective efforts from corps members would significantly contribute to reducing the prevalence of negative social behaviours.
Ngboro highlighted the ICPC’s unwavering commitment to eradicating corruption from the system and ensuring a corruption-free society. She underscored the commission’s mandate to conduct thorough system studies within government agencies to ensure compliance with established procedures and protocols.
“The ICPC is dedicated to enforcing the law, investigating reported offences, and prosecuting those found culpable,” Ngboro stated. She also reiterated the ICPC’s collaboration with other government anti-graft agencies to rid society of corruption and indiscipline.
As Nigeria grapples with the detrimental effects of corruption, the call to action from the ICPC to corps members underscores the importance of collective responsibility in fostering transparency and accountability in governance.
