Afrobeat singer Tems recently shared her struggles with adjusting to fame on Big Boy TV. The singer revealed that her newfound success has made it impossible for her to move freely in Nigeria.

“I’m very famous at home, so I can’t really go anywhere,” Tems said. “I used to try to drive before, but I almost got mobbed last year. Now I have to have police cars in front and at the back, and if I want to drive myself, there must be police driving behind me.”

Tems also spoke about her introverted nature and the challenges of adapting to fame. “I didn’t take it well at first,” she admitted. “I wanted some alone time and wanted to go back to my room and be alone.”

The singer shared instances where she confronted people who spoke negatively about her, not realizing that as a famous person, she couldn’t engage in such behavior. “I had to learn everything from the beginning,” Tems said.

Tems’ candid conversation highlights the difficulties of navigating fame and the loss of personal freedom.
