Davido Warns Black Americans To Think Twice Before Moving To Nigeria

Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has cautioned black Americans against relocating to Nigeria, citing the country’s dire economic situation.

During an appearance on The Big Homies House podcast, Davido shared his candid thoughts on Nigeria’s struggles, stating that the economy is in a state of disarray.

Davido attributed Nigeria’s woes to poor leadership, a fluctuating exchange rate, and soaring oil prices, which have had a devastating impact on the country. He noted that despite his efforts to promote Nigeria’s positive image, the reality on the ground is far from ideal.

“I do my part, I am an ambassador,” Davido said. “When I go home and I am filming, I am not going to show the bad parts. But I am talking about the situation in the country. Now the exchange rate is messed up, a lot of stuff is not going well.”

Davido further emphasized the economic challenges facing Nigeria, highlighting the irony of the country paying more for oil despite being a major producer. “The economy is just not good enough. The oil price is too high. Imagine the country that produces oil, paying more for it than a country importing oil,” he lamented.

Despite the challenges, Davido acknowledged the significant contribution of the entertainment industry to Africa’s global image. “Regardless, entertainment is one of the things that has made Africa look good. We do not have the best leader, that is a fact,” he said.
