Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, aka Davido, has stated that effective leadership is the key missing ingredient for Nigeria to reach its full potential.
Featuring on the ‘Elevate Africa Convos’ podcast, Davido said Nigeria has the potential to prosper but suffers from ineffective governance that hinders progress.
“I tell people, if you can survive in Nigeria, you can survive anywhere,” Davido stated. “I just feel the only thing missing is the right leaders to guide us. Once we get that right, I believe there’s nothing that can stop us.”
Davido had previously sparked controversy after warning Americans against contemplating relocation to Africa, especially Nigeria, saying the country’s economy is in a “shambles” in a podcast interview. He also expressed his concerns about Nigeria’s lack of true democracy in another interview.
