Kemi Badenoch Hails Zelensky As A Hero Amid Tensions With Trump.
The leader of the United Kingdom’s Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch, has described Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as a hero, following his heated exchange with US President Donald Trump.
Badenoch’s remarks came after a tense meeting at the Oval Office in Washington, where Trump and US Vice President JD Vance allegedly pressured Zelensky during discussions on the ongoing war with Russia. Despite the confrontation, Zelensky has continued to receive widespread support from world leaders.
In a post on her X handle, Badenoch praised Zelensky’s resilience, stating, I thought it was quite an extraordinary press conference, and we all need to remember that President Zelensky is a hero.
She further highlighted his role in defending Ukraine against Russian aggression, saying, *He represents the Ukrainian people’s strength and resistance to an authoritarian regime that is trying to destroy them.
Badenoch also emphasised the need for continued international backing for Ukraine, adding, President Zelensky needs all of the support that he can get, and I think it is inappropriate to conduct that kind of disagreement in front of the camera.
The Ukrainian leader remains steadfast in securing global support as the war with Russia continues, with the UK among the countries reaffirming their commitment to Ukraine’s defence.
