Israeli Military Issues New Evacuation Orders Amid Ongoing Offensive In Gaza

Israeli Military Issues New Evacuation Orders Amid Ongoing Offensive In Gaza.

The Israeli military has issued fresh evacuation orders for neighbourhoods in eastern Gaza City as it continues its operations across the Gaza Strip. The orders, announced on Friday, targeted areas already designated for evacuation in the previous week, indicating that some residents had remained despite earlier warnings.

This latest development comes as part of Israel’s wider campaign in Gaza following the collapse of a ceasefire with Hamas in March. The military has since advanced into various parts of the territory, aiming to establish what it terms a “security zone” while pursuing targets linked to Hamas.

According to United Nations reports, approximately 390,000 people have been displaced in recent weeks. However, the precise number of those remaining in evacuation zones remains uncertain, as many residents face the difficult decision of whether to remain in their homes or endure the hardships of displacement.

“We don’t want to leave,” said Ahmad al-Masri, a 26-year-old resident of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza. “Where will we go? It’s so very tiring.”

The evacuation orders have been followed in some areas by ground incursions, while in others, infantry have not yet been deployed. Some Palestinians have stated they would only flee their homes if Israeli tanks enter their neighbourhoods.

Israel’s intensified campaign includes widespread airstrikes and the seizure of key areas. Officials say these actions are part of an effort to pressure Hamas into releasing hostages still being held.

As the conflict continues, the humanitarian situation remains dire, with thousands facing uncertain futures and limited access to basic necessities. International observers have urged restraint and the prioritisation of civilian protection amid the escalating hostilities.
