PDP Governors Vow To Reclaim Power At Federal Level In 2027.

Governors elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have declared their collective resolve to reclaim power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the federal level in the 2027 general elections.

The declaration was made during a gala night hosted by the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, at the International Conference Centre of the University of Ibadan on Sunday evening.

Present at the event were several PDP governors, including the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed; Governor Ahmad Fintiri of Adamawa; Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu; Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun; Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau; Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba; and Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara.

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom was represented by his deputy, Akon Eyakenyi, while Delta State Deputy Governor, Monday Onyeme, stood in for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

In his welcome address, Governor Makinde expressed optimism about the party’s future, asserting that the PDP is on track to return to power.

“The PDP is going to be where we want it to be. This is the party that will form the next government in the country. I have said it before that 2027 is between the APC and the people of Nigeria,” he stated.

Echoing Makinde’s sentiment, Governor Bala Mohammed affirmed that the PDP is poised to lead the country once again.

“By 2027, by the grace of God, we shall take over the reins of leadership in this country, because Nigerians have learnt and they now understand what governance truly means,” he said.

Governor Mohammed also used the occasion to express firm support for Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, who is currently facing political challenges in his state.

“Even in Rivers State, where we had hiccups recently, we want to assure you that all the governors of the PDP are backing Governor Fubara to ensure he comes back and continues his good work,” he added.

The gathering served as both a show of unity and a renewed commitment by the PDP governors to work towards a successful comeback at the centre in the forthcoming elections.
