Ademola Lookman has been named Atalanta’s Player of the Season for the second year in a row. This accolade follows an outstanding season in which he made significant contributions to the team’s success.
Lookman, 26, made history by scoring a hat-trick that secured Atalanta’s first-ever European honour, the UEFA Europa League, by defeating the previously undefeated Bayer Leverkusen. His exceptional performance earned him the Man of the Final award. Over the course of the Europa League, he netted five goals and provided an assist in 11 appearances.
In Serie A, Lookman was equally impressive, scoring 11 goals and assisting eight times in 31 appearances. His remarkable form played a crucial role in Atalanta’s qualification for the upcoming UEFA Champions League season.
Lookman’s achievements extended beyond club football. He was the joint leading scorer for the Super Eagles during the delayed 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire in February.
