Nigeria’s biggest airline, Air Peace, has rolled out 1,000 graduate roles under its 2025/2026 Graduate Trainee Programme, a move the carrier says is a direct way of supporting the Federal Government’s suspension of the 4% Free on Board (FOB) levy on imports.
Chairman of Air Peace, Dr. Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, for responding to the concerns of industry stakeholders and taking decisive action to protect jobs across the country.
Onyema described the suspension as a “lifeline” for airlines and the broader aviation industry. “Just as the government has acted to protect jobs and support businesses, Air Peace is reciprocating this kind gesture by creating 1,000 fresh graduate jobs. If further supportive measures like this come from the Federal Government, I can assure you that thousands more jobs will be created in the aviation sector,” he said.
He stressed that without the government’s intervention, the sector faced severe economic pressures that could have crippled airlines and triggered massive job losses.
The Graduate Trainee Programme, according to the airline, is designed to build a pool of young, skilled professionals who will receive mentorship and training to thrive in aviation and allied industries. The initiative, Air Peace added, underscores its commitment to human capital development and the transformation of Nigeria’s aviation landscape.
Applications are open until September 30, 2025, via flyairpeace.com/graduate-trainee-program, with eligibility set for candidates not older than 30, holding at least a Second Class Lower Degree from a recognised university, an NYSC Discharge/Exclusion/Exemption Certificate, and demonstrating passion and adaptability.
By aligning with the Federal Government’s job-sustaining policies, Air Peace said it is reaffirming its role in nation-building and contributing to sustainable economic growth.
