The Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Aghamba, and his wife, who were abducted while en route to Abuja, have been released from captivity.
The couple was reportedly traveling to the capital on Friday to attend the wedding of Ifeatu Adaora, the daughter of Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, when they were kidnapped.
GOVIMA earlier Reported that , the tragic incident also claimed the life of one of the commissioner’s aides, Kpajie Offia, who was accompanying them on the journey.
In a statement released on Sunday, Christian Aburime, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Soludo, confirmed the couple’s release, stating that they were freed within 24 hours of their abduction. “Within 24 hours, we were able to get them out of the hands of kidnappers,” Aburime said.
