It was raining goals in group D at the on going AFCON 2023 as Angola see off the challenge of Mauritania to move top of the table.
The Game ended 3:2 in favour of the Angolans in what was a thrilling AFCON match. Gelson Dala Scored a brace one in each half to boost the chances of his country into qualifying for the knockout phase.
Mauritania put up a good fight in this encounter but they eventually felt short alas, as they lost their second group game.
Amar equalized late into the first half to bring Mauritania level, but they conceded two goals in second half which made things difficult for them eventually Koita pulled one back. But it appears too late and the Match ended 3:2.
The result means Mauritania won’t be able to make the knockout stages even if they win their last group game as they are currently on zero point and last on the table with Angola and Burkina Faso tied on four points each.
It’s the end of the road and they will only play for pride and hope to do better in subsequent competition.
