The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially affirmed Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s position as the National Chairman of the party, dismissing reports of his purported suspension.
The statement, issued by APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka in Abuja, denounced the suspension as a deceptive move orchestrated by individuals affiliated with senior officials of the NNPP, aimed at sowing confusion within the party.
According to Morka, the alleged suspension stemmed from the actions of impersonators posing as ward officials in the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, but they were not legitimate APC members.
The statement emphasised that Ganduje remains a respected member of the party and condemned the purported suspension as “downright criminal” and ineffective.
Expressing determination to uncover the masterminds behind the suspension, Morka announced that the APC has filed a petition with the Inspector General of Police, urging an expedited investigation into the matter and calling for the prosecution of those responsible.
Meanwhile, the Kano State chapter of the APC has issued a stern warning to party ward leaders involved in the suspension saga, threatening legal action against them. Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Koko, representing the ward and local government executive committee members, asserted that the purported suspension holds no validity and vowed to pursue legal recourse against the individuals responsible for what he described as “conspiracy, impersonation, and defamation.”
In light of these developments, party members have been urged to disregard the alleged suspension and maintain calm, as efforts to uphold the integrity of the party and its leadership continue.
