“APC, LP, PDP’ve Failed Nigerians” — Aregbesola Urges Voters To Choose ADC In 2027

“APC, LP, PDP’ve Failed Nigerians” — Aregbesola Urges Voters To Choose ADC In 2027.

Lagos, Nigeria – On 13 August 2025, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Interim National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), delivered a scathing critique of Nigeria’s major political parties during a membership drive in Kosofe Local Government Area, Lagos State. The former Minister of the Interior declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Labour Party (LP) have failed to deliver progress, urging Nigerians to reject them in the 2027 general elections.

Aregbesola, once a prominent APC figure and former Governor of Osun State, accused the trio of parties of neglecting citizens’ needs, leaving Nigeria in a state of stagnation. He positioned the ADC as the solution, promising a “new deal” to steer the country towards development. “Spread the gospel of the ADC to every Nigerian, especially in your communities,” he told supporters, emphasising the party’s vision for a better future.

Funmi Onita-Coker, the ADC Influencer in Kosofe, said Aregbesola’s visit aimed to boost membership ahead of 2027. He called for a robust recruitment campaign, assuring supporters of the resources needed to succeed. Aregbesola also stressed the importance of safeguarding votes, encouraging Nigerians to stand firm in their quest for change.

The Lagos APC hit back, with spokesman Seye Oladejo branding Aregbesola’s remarks a “betrayal of trust.” He argued that Aregbesola’s long career within the APC undermines his credibility to criticise it. “His claims are politically motivated,” Oladejo said, dismissing the ADC’s promises as unoriginal and reaffirming the APC’s commitment to progress in Lagos and Nigeria.

In a related development, the South-West APC announced plans to recruit over 2,000 canvassers to bolster President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign. Speaking in Akure, Zonal Chairman Isaacs Kekemeke expressed confidence in replicating the party’s strong electoral performance in other regions.

Aregbesola’s bold defection to the ADC and his call for a political overhaul have ignited discussions about Nigeria’s governance as the 2027 elections loom. With the ADC gaining traction, his message resonates with an electorate increasingly frustrated by the status quo.
