Apple has put developers ahead as it releases the fourth upcoming updates for beta versions of iOS 17 and iPadOS 17. These updates come two weeks after the third beta release.
To install the beta build, developers can follow the steps as provided by Apple.
Open Settings, select the Software Update, tap “Beta Updates,” and turn on the iOS 16 Developer Beta option. It’s important to note that an associated Apple ID with a developer account is needed to download and install the beta.
It is generally recommended not to install the beta build on your main device due to the presence of numerous bugs and issues. If you wish to avoid the inconvenience, you can wait until September, when the stable build of iOS 17 is expected to be released for all users.
The latest mobile operating system from Apple iOS 17, has made some small but useful improvements.
These include customizable call screens, live voicemail and better SharePlay features. The Messages app now has an option to create stickers and a new safety feature. Siri can be activated without saying “Hey Siri” and standby mode turns the iPhone into a smart display.
Moreover, the update has added new features to support physical and mental health. There is a new Journal app coming later this year. The update also introduces interactive widgets, a customizable lock screen, a revamped Notes app with PDF support, and more.
iPadOS 17 brings all the changes that come to iPhones with iOS 17, with a few more additions. The biggest addition is the customisable lock screen, which was first introduced in iOS 16. Now, iPad users, too, have more wallpaper options and can put widgets on the lock screen.
Apple has also released the macOS Sonoma Developer Beta 4, alongside new beta builds for watchOS and tvOS for developers.
