Arsenal Triumph In Penalty Shootout Against Bournemouth In U.S. Tour Opener.

Arsenal began their three-match tour of the United States with a thrilling victory over Bournemouth, securing a 5-4 win on penalties after a 1-1 draw in Los Angeles.

Vieira Shines

Fabio Vieira put Arsenal ahead in the first half with a stunning volley, meeting Reiss Nelson’s deep cross and driving the ball into the far bottom corner.

Competitive Encounter

The match was highly competitive, with three players receiving bookings. Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein made crucial saves, denying Dominic Solanke and summer signing Daniel Jebbison, who both found themselves with only Hein to beat.

Bournemouth’s Equaliser

Despite Hein’s heroics, he was unable to keep out Antoine Semenyo’s strike, which deflected off Omar Rekik and nestled into the far corner.

Penalty Shootout Decider

Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto made a late save from Leandro Trossard, following excellent build-up play from Martin Odegaard, sending the match to a pre-planned penalty shootout. Ryan Christie’s miss for Bournemouth proved decisive, handing Arsenal the win.

Arteta on Smith Rowe’s Absence

Notably absent was Emile Smith Rowe, amid rumours linking him with a move to Fulham. “There are things happening in the background and we decided the best thing to do was to keep him away from the game,” Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta explained post-match.

Next Matches

This match concludes Bournemouth’s trip to California following their draw with Wrexham. Arsenal’s next challenge will be against Manchester United at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday.
