Atiku, El Rufai Pay Courtesy Visit To Olubadan

A delegation of prominent Nigerians, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, paid a courtesy visit to the newly coronated Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.

The visit included notable figures such as Nasir El Rufai, former governor of Kaduna State, Liyel Imoke, former governor of Cross River, and Iyorcha Ayu, former Senate President.

During the visit, Atiku described the monarch’s ascension as historic and unique, expressing hope that Ibadanland would witness an era of peace and unprecedented development under his leadership. “Kindly forgive our inability to attend your coronation ceremony as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday,” Atiku said, formalizing the visit by presenting a letter of congratulation to the traditional ruler.

Oba Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, expressed appreciation for the gesture from the national political figures. He restated his commitment to serving the people, vowing to use his reign and the rest of his life to serve Ibadan people, Oyo State, Yorubaland, and Nigeria at large. “We will ensure fairness and justice in the ancient city,” he implied, promising to be a monarch for all.

Atiku’s visit to the Olubadan comes after the monarch’s coronation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland last Friday. As a former governor of Oyo State, Ladoja brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new role. The meeting between the Olubadan and the delegation is likely to focus on various issues affecting the region, including development, governance, and community relations.

The Olubadan’s ascension has brought joy to the people of Ibadanland, with many hoping for a brighter future under his leadership. Atiku’s visit signifies the importance of the monarch’s role in the community and the need for collaboration between traditional and political leaders.

The visit has sparked widespread interest, with many Nigerians eager to see the impact of the Olubadan’s leadership on the region’s development. As the monarch begins his reign, it is expected that he will work closely with stakeholders to address the challenges facing Ibadanland and promote peace, stability, and progress.
