The Lagos State Police Command has issued a warning, stating that it will not tolerate any form of gathering at the tollgate in the Lekki area of the state. Addressing the public, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos State Command Police Public Relations Officer, noted that no gathering or convergence of any kind will be allowed near the toll gate. Alhaji Mansur Nuhu Bamalli, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Morocco, is dead. He was also the Magajin Garin Zazzau and biological younger brother to the Emir of Zazzau. A statement by the Media and Publicity officer of the Zazzau emirate council said Mansur Nuhu Bamalli died at a private Hospital in Lagos while on transit to Morocco. The US State Department has issued a “worldwide” travel advisory to Americans. They were warned to exercise increased caution to avoid becoming victims of possible terror attacks. “Due to increased tensions in various locations around the world, the potential for terrorist attacks, demonstrations or violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests, the Department of State advises U.S. citizens overseas to exercise increased caution,” the agency warned in a statement on Thursday. UEFA said on Thursday the result of the European Championship qualifying game between Belgium and Sweden, which was abandoned this week after two Swedish fans were killed before kickoff, will stand. The game was called off at half-time with the score 1-1. Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has rejected the Nigerian Customs Service’s request for reconsideration of its revoked land by the FCT Administration. The minister had ordered FCTA to revoke unused plots of land, leading to top politicians, organisations and government agencies losing lands. The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, said his ministry plans to secure the release of 4,000 inmates in a bid to decongest prisons nationwide. Finnish telecoms giant Nokia is to axe between 9,000 and 14,000 jobs by the end of 2026 to cut costs. The announcement was made as the company reported a 20% drop in sales between July and September. The company blamed slowing demand for 5G equipment in markets such as North America. It currently has 86,000 employees around the world, and has axed thousands of jobs since 2015.
