The Lagos Police Command has uncovered a den of kidnappers in the Ikorodu area of Lagos, Thursday night. The kidnappers opened fire on operatives of the Command who stormed the den.During the cross- fire, one of the kidnappers was gunned down. Three victims were rescued in the process.Spokesman for the Command, SP Benjamin Hudenyin said arms and ammunition were recovered at the scene.He added that the victims were receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital .

A former deputy governor of Nasarawa State, Prof Onje Gye-wado has been kidnapped by daredevil gunmen. Onje Gye-wado, a one-time deputy Governor of the State who served during Abdullahi Adamu administration, was abducted in the early hours of Friday when the assailants invaded Gwagi village in Wamba Local Government Area of the state. The Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel has also confirmed the development. Air travellers across the country will have to seek alternative means of transportation, following the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, denying petroleum marketers access to various airports over incremental tariffs. The access restriction started today (Thursday) at the Abuja airport and plans are underway to extend it to other airports managed by FAAN. Nigeria has 32 airports, 26 of which are operated by the FAAN, and five of which are functional international airports. It also has a state-owned airport located in Akwa Ibom State. The Federal Government has approved two contracts worth N15.3 billion for the supply and installation of information and communication technology (ICT) devices for the 2023 population and housing census slated for May 3 to 5. The amount was for the supply and installation of ICT devices for the census exercise. The death of a police officer who was enforcing a ban on commercial motorcycles popularly known as okada at Cele Bus Stop in Lagos has been confirmed. Lagos State Police Command confirmed the incident on Wednesday. A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, sitting at Maitama, yesterday, issued an order, restraining Mr. Julius Abure from parading himself as the National Chairman of the Labour Party, LP.
