Governorship candidates of some political parties in Rivers State Hold Protest At Police Headquarters With Various Claims Of Harasment And Intimidation by the incumbent Governor, Nyesom Wike ahead of Saturday’s election. INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Akwa Ibom, Dr. Cyril Omorogbe says the commission has delisted 100 ad hoc staff in the state over alleged involvement in election malpractices. Omorogbe made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Uyo on Thursday. He said the affected ad hoc staff were found culpable of electoral malpractices during the Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state. ”We blacklisted them, we will not use them during the Governorship and House of Assembly elections on Saturday,” he said. Hours to the Saturday governorship election, Seye Dairo, Campaign Director-General, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Lagos State, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, better known as Jandor, has resigned. Dairo, who made the disclosure via a letter, failed to give any reason for taking the action. The UK on Thursday announced a security ban on the Chinese-owned video app TikTok on government devices, in line with action by the European Union and the United States. “We will do so with immediate effect,” Cabinet Office minister Oliver Dowden told parliament.
