The Super Falcons of Nigeria will jet off to Leon, Mexico on Saturday (today) for the four-nation invitational tournament tagged Revelation Cup. Hosts Mexico, Colombia and Costa Rica are the three other teams that will take part in the competition. The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled former governor of Enugu State, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani and 6 others over alleged anti-party activities. Recall that Senator Nnamani was last month suspended by the party. The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation has assured Nigerians that depositors’ funds are safe, saying that the current Central Bank of Nigeria currency swap has nothing to do with people’s monies in banks. The Naira on Thursday exchanged at 461.10 to the dollar at the Investors and Exporters window. The figure represented an appreciation by 0.02 per cent compared with the 461.17 it exchanged on Wednesday. The open indicative rate closed at N461.25 to the dollar on Thursday. An exchange rate of N462 to the dollar was the highest rate recorded within the day’s trading before it settled at N461.10. The naira sold for as low as 439.96 to the dollar within the day’s trading. A total of 40.24 million dollars was traded at the official Investors and Exporters Window on Thursday.

The Lagos State Government says it was contemplating implementing logistic routes for trucks and articulated vehicles as specified in the State’s Transport Master Plan. The Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde made the disclosure at a stakeholders’ meeting on Thursday at Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa Ikeja. On Thursday, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) said it would sanction fuel stations that did not accept the use of bank transfers or Point of Sale (POS) machines at their outlets. General Manager, Corporate Communications and Stakeholders Management, NMDPRA, Kimchi Apollo, stated this in a statement in Abuja.
