President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday in Abuja approved the partial exclusion of the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), from the Treasury Single Account (TSA). In a statement by Femi Adesina, Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Buhari also granted the request of the board of MOFI to charge management and transaction fees and include the Minister of Power in its governing council. President Muhammadu Buhari has favoured Abike Dabiri-Erewa as she gets reappointed as the chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM for a second term. The notice of her reappointment was contained in a letter written by the President to the Senate requesting the Upper Chamber to confirm her reappointment. Suspended Resident Electoral Commission (REC), in Adamawa State, Hudu Yunusa Ari has been arrested by police custody. Ari had courted controversy after the supplementary election in Adamawa State on April 15, 2023 when he announced Binani as the winner of the dramatic poll while collation of results was ongoing. The House of Representatives has summoned the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama and the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri to brief the House on the challenges associated with the evacuation of Nigerians stranded in Sudan. Felix Ademola, an Ibadan-based photojournalist, believed by many to have saved a former Governor of old Oyo State and Attorney General and Minister of Justice, late Chief Bola Ige from the assassin’s bullet in 1983 has been buried. Ademola died on the 24th of March this year at the age of 68 after a brief illness. A 34-year-old woman, Nosimot Alalade, was on Friday arraigned before an Abeokuta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Isabo for assaulting a staffer of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company while on duty. The Director-General, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN), Olawale Fasanya, has lamented that between 2017 to 2021 alone, over two million businesses in Nano, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (nMSMEs), subsection died. He explained that it led to pushing more than six million Nigerians into the unemployment market. The Central Bank of Nigeria has stated that banks should transfer funds in accounts that have been dormant for at least, 10 years into a trust fund account.
