Bukky Wright Earns AMAA 2025 Nomination For Best Supporting Actress

Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has been nominated for the Best Supporting Actress category at the upcoming Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA 2025), marking a major milestone in her celebrated comeback to the Nigerian film industry.

The actress, who took a long break from the big screen, expressed her excitement and gratitude after being recognized for her role in Red Circle, a project directed by filmmaker Nora Awolowo. Wright described the nomination as both humbling and rewarding, saying it felt like “rediscovering a piece of herself she truly missed.”

In a heartfelt Instagram post, she wrote, “We’re back! My heart is so full. After some time away from the screen, stepping back into storytelling feels like rediscovering a piece of myself I truly missed. To be nominated as Best Supporting Actress for this film is beyond humbling.”

Wright also took a moment to appreciate her fans and industry colleagues who have supported her over the years, saying, “To everyone who believed in me, supported me, and welcomed me back with so much love  thank you from the depths of my heart.” Her post has since received hundreds of congratulatory messages from fans and fellow actors.

She further celebrated her director and co-nominee, Nora Awolowo, adding, “Congratulations, @noraawolowo. You deserve your flowers for the effort and hard work you put into this project! Thank you for choosing me. This is for every dream that took a pause but never died.”

The announcement of her nomination has sparked widespread excitement across Nollywood, with many describing Wright’s recognition as proof of her enduring talent, elegance, and versatility.
