Côte d’Ivoire Secure Dominant 4-1 Victory Over Sierra Leone In AFCON 2025 Qualifier.

Côte d’Ivoire continued their impressive run in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 qualifiers with a commanding 4-1 win over Sierra Leone on Friday. The Elephants, who had already won their first two group matches, reinforced their dominance at the Laurent Pokou Stadium.

The home side took an early lead just two minutes into the game, courtesy of Nicolas Pépé. However, Sierra Leone fought back before half-time, with Alhassan Koroma scoring an equaliser, leaving the teams level at the break.

In the second half, Côte d’Ivoire regained control of the match. Franck Kessié restored their lead with a 51st-minute goal, assisted by Séko Fofana. Kessié went on to score again in the 75th minute, before Oumar Diakité sealed the victory with a late penalty.

The win sees Côte d’Ivoire maintain their perfect record, topping Group G with nine points from three matches. The Elephants’ strong performance in this AFCON qualifying campaign keeps them firmly on course for a place in the Morocco 2025 tournament.
