Dangote Refinery Denies Receiving Payments From IPMAN For Petroleum Products.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has clarified that it has not received any payments from the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) for the purchase of refined petroleum products. The statement, released by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, addressed concerns over claims of IPMAN experiencing loading difficulties at the refinery.
According to Chiejina, “although discussions are ongoing with IPMAN, it is misleading to suggest that IPMAN members are facing difficulties loading refined products from our refinery, as we currently have no direct business dealings with them.” The refinery confirmed that payments made by IPMAN were handled through the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) rather than directly with Dangote Refinery. Additionally, the NNPCL has not authorised or approved the release of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to IPMAN via the refinery.
Emphasising its capacity, Dangote Refinery noted it is capable of meeting Nigeria’s full demand for petroleum products, with a daily loading capacity of up to 2,900 trucks. The statement further underscored that the refinery bears no responsibility for transactions conducted through third parties.
