Davido, the Nigerian Afrobeat star, made a bold fashion statement by wearing a green-and-white outfit, representing the Nigerian flag, to an interview.

This move came amidst the backlash he faced over his recent comments about Africa’s economic struggles.

The singer had earlier sparked controversy with his remarks about the economic challenges facing the continent. In a recent interview, Davido had advised Black Americans to reconsider relocating to Africa, citing the economic difficulties they may face.

Despite the backlash, Davido seemed unfazed as he proudly showcased his Nigerian heritage with his outfit choice. The move was seen as a gesture of patriotism and a demonstration of his love for his country.

This gesture, subtle yet impactful, seems to reaffirm Davido’s connection to Nigeria, despite controversies surrounding his earlier remarks about the country’s economic state. Fans quickly flooded the comments with support, applauding the singer for his symbolic statement.

In a tweet accompanying the photo, Davido playfully addressed those who accused him of not fully embracing his Nigerian identity in previous statements. “I Dey go do interview nw … fully representing. Say make I kuku put am for head,” he wrote, proudly showcasing his Nigerian pride.
