Manchester United saw off the challenge of Everton at the Old Trafford. Winning 2:0 at the end of 90 minutes of football action.

Manchester United back in action in the Premier League after losing two consecutive games, the Red Devils knowing fully well that maximum 3 point is essential to keep hope of making the Champions League alive.

Two penalties were enough to earn the maximum 3 point, Alejandro Ganacho was brought down twice and the referee didn’t hesitate to point to the spot. The penalties were converted by Fernandes and Rashford.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag to TNT Sports: “Every game we have to win, so every game is a must-need.”

On Alejandro Garnacho: “He’s progressing very well and we are very pleased with this. His contribution today was huge, his runs, his dribbles. It’s attractive as well for the audience, obviously we want to show something. I think well-deserved penalties.”

Pleased with the performance: “In areas yes, especially with our attacks and counter-attacks, but we can make better choices to rest on the ball, choosing when to break. We could have scored three or four goals not just the two penalties. We defended quite well, we could have been a bit better in the build-up.

“We could have been calmer and more composed on the ball. Everton did well and pressed high which gave us lots of chances in behind.”

On Marcus Rashford: “He’s good in the game, good in the team. It shows the team spirit. Bruno took the first but we have more very good penalty takers. In this moment he is good, in the team, and he is a threat.

“We defended very well. Our expected goals is much higher than them. We are defending low quality chances. Sometimes we are defending very low and we can do that very well.

“It was important. We had one bad result against Fulham in this calendar year. We had to put this right and keep the pressure on the teams above us. There are many games to play. Now we are back. We will keep pressure on them and see what happens.” Hag Concluded.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes on TNT Sports: “Obviously we know we have to win every game that we have ahead. We know our position in the league and it’s not enough for us. We want to try and get into the spots for the Champions League. We know it’s going to be tough and difficult but we have to win these games.

“We have to win every game. We didn’t win against Fulham. That was not good enough. Then we go away to City and we don’t win two games in a row. It gets tough. Aston Villa is doing really well, in moments Tottenham are being really good. It will be more difficult for us than them but we have to push.”

On handing the second penalty to Marcus Rashford: “We both kick the penalties. I asked Marcus if he wanted to take and he said he was confident. He is one of the penalty takers that the manager chooses. I felt I had my one, Rashy could get his goal from the penalty.”
