Manchester City bounced back from the disappointment of their Champions League quarter-final exit to Real Madrid by defeating Chelsea at Wembley, securing a spot in the FA Cup final with Bernardo Silva’s late goal.
Silva redeemed himself after his missed penalty played a role in City’s loss to Real on penalties. The Portuguese midfielder scored the winner from Kevin de Bruyne’s cross six minutes from time.
Chelsea, on the other hand, missed several chances, mainly through Nicolas Jackson, and felt aggrieved at not being awarded a second-half penalty when Jack Grealish’s hand blocked Cole Palmer’s free-kick.
City’s victory keeps them on track for a potential double of Premier League and FA Cup titles. They will face either Manchester United or Coventry City in the final.
Manager Pep Guardiola urged his team to dig deep against a motivated Chelsea side, and despite a slow start, City showed their resilience and quality to secure the win.
