Plymouth Argyle Host Eight-Time FA Cup Winners Liverpool In Fourth Round.

In what promises to be one of the most intriguing matchups of the FA Cup fourth round, Plymouth Argyle have drawn Liverpool at home. The Pilgrims, currently languishing at the bottom of the Championship, pulled off a remarkable upset by defeating the Premier League’s Brentford 1-0 in the third round, marking one of the weekend’s standout results.

Elsewhere, Birmingham City, leading the charge in League One, are set to welcome Newcastle United to St Andrew’s. Meanwhile, Exeter City, also from the third tier, will host Nottingham Forest after a commendable performance in the previous round.

Manchester United, fresh off their dramatic penalty shootout victory against Arsenal, will take on the 2021 FA Cup winners, Leicester City. The fourth round will also feature several all-Premier League clashes, with Tottenham Hotspur making the journey to Aston Villa, Brighton hosting Chelsea, and Bournemouth facing Everton at Goodison Park.

Manchester City’s path to the next round depends on the outcome of the postponed match between Leyton Orient and Derby County, which was delayed due to a frozen pitch. The winners will host the reigning Premier League champions. Crystal Palace, on the other hand, have a trip to League Two side Doncaster Rovers, showcasing the competition’s tradition of pitting teams from different tiers against each other.

The lowest-ranked team left in the tournament, Dagenham & Redbridge from the National League, could face Leeds United if they manage to overcome Millwall in their upcoming third-round replay.

The fourth-round matches are scheduled for the weekend of Saturday, 8 February. Here is the full draw:

Manchester United v Leicester City

Leeds United v Millwall or Dagenham and Redbridge

Brighton & Hove Albion v Chelsea

Preston North End or Charlton Athletic v Wycombe Wanderers

Exeter City v Nottingham Forest

Coventry City v Ipswich Town

Blackburn Rovers v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Mansfield Town or Wigan Athletic v Fulham

Birmingham City v Newcastle United

Plymouth Argyle v Liverpool

Everton v Bournemouth

Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur

Southampton v Burnley

Leyton Orient or Derby County v Manchester City

Doncaster Rovers v Crystal Palace

Stoke City v Cardiff City

This round promises excitement and the typical FA Cup magic, where dreams are both made and shattered in the pursuit of football’s oldest cup competition.
