FG unveils 20-bed Renewed Hope PHC In Ogun

The people of Isheri Olofin and its environs in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State were filled with excitement as the Federal Government unveiled a 20-bed Renewed Hope Primary Healthcare Centre (RHPHC), a modern facility designed to provide accessible and quality healthcare to grassroots communities.

The commissioning ceremony, organised by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs) in collaboration with the Ogun State Government, drew community leaders, health stakeholders, and dignitaries who described the project as a “new dawn for healthcare” in the area.

Speaking at the event, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, described the health centre as more than just an infrastructure project. “This centre represents a vital step in Nigeria’s journey towards achieving the SDGs. It is a sanctuary of care, a reminder that health is a necessity and not a luxury, and a testament to the government’s resolve to ensure that no community is left behind,” she said.

Orelope-Adefulire stressed that the project aligns with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to inclusive development under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. She added that the facility is part of several cottage and specialist hospitals being built across the country.

The First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, who officially commissioned the centre, hailed it as a lifeline for the people of Isheri Olofin. “Healthcare is the foundation on which strong communities are built. This centre will provide maternal care, immunisations, and essential medical services that will touch countless families. It is not just a building; it is a celebration of partnership, foresight, and compassion,” she stated.

She also commended President Tinubu and OSSAP-SDGs for investing in healthcare across Nigeria and applauded the Olofin of Isheri, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sulaiman Adekunle Bamgbade, for his role in ensuring the smooth delivery of the project.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of his people, Oba Bamgbade thanked Orelope-Adefulire and the Federal Government for the gesture, noting that the facility will reduce the hardship of travelling long distances for medical care and improve health outcomes, especially for women and children.

The newly commissioned PHC is equipped with consultation rooms, a maternity ward, a delivery suite, a laboratory, a pharmacy, and inpatient wards. It is expected to serve as a beacon of accessible healthcare in Ogun State, strengthening the local health system and improving maternal and child health.
