The Federal Government has provided an update on the health status of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun.
According to Chief Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Edun is “getting better” following a recent health concern.
In a statement released on Monday evening, Chief Dare conveyed that he had a brief conversation with Edun, who reassured him of his improving condition. “I spoke with the Minister of Finance this evening. He is recovering well and in good spirits,” Dare stated.
The presidency has also addressed circulating rumors regarding Edun’s health, clarifying that he did not suffer a stroke and has not been flown abroad for treatment. “The reports are unfounded. The Minister is recuperating at home in Abuja,” a presidential source confirmed.
Edun, a former investment banker and Lagos State Commissioner for Finance, has been instrumental in implementing President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms. His leadership has been pivotal in steering the country’s fiscal policies and engaging with international investors.
The public’s interest in Edun’s health has been significant, given his prominent role in the administration’s economic initiatives. The presidency’s transparent communication about his condition aims to reassure the public and stakeholders about the stability of Nigeria’s economic direction.
As Edun continues his recovery, the focus remains on the government’s commitment to its economic reform agenda. The administration’s proactive approach in addressing public concerns reflects its dedication to maintaining confidence in Nigeria’s economic trajectory.
