Fubara Denies Allegations Of Bombing And Pipeline Attacks.
Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has dismissed allegations linking him to attacks on oil pipelines, the bombing of the State Assembly complex, and an alleged plot to unseat President Bola Tinubu. The claims were made by the former Head of Service, Dr George Nwaeke, in a statement aired on Channels Television.
Nwaeke alleged that Fubara was behind several security breaches in the state, including orchestrating explosions and working towards a political agenda for 2027. However, in a swift response, Fubara issued a statement titled Ignore Nwaeke’s False Claims, describing the accusations as baseless and politically motivated.
“It is laughable that Dr Nwaeke claims to have attended my alleged meetings to support Bala Mohammed’s 2027 presidential bid and engage militants. No such meetings ever took place,” Fubara stated.
He further rejected claims that he encouraged attacks on national assets, insisting that he has consistently advocated for peace despite political provocations.
Fubara accused Nwaeke of acting under pressure or financial inducement, urging Nigerians to disregard his statements.
“The truth is that Dr Nwaeke has been compromised. His claims are desperate attempts to discredit me and my administration, as well as to undermine the peace process initiated by Mr President,” he added.
The suspended governor reaffirmed his commitment to stability in Rivers State and called on the public to focus on facts rather than politically charged accusations.
