Ganduje Denies Allegations Of Protesters Stealing Sensitive Corruption Trial Documents, Calls Accusations Baseless

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has dismissed allegations that protesters looted and absconded with sensitive documents related to his ongoing corruption trial as “baseless and comical.”

In a statement issued on Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, the former Kano State Governor claimed that credible intelligence reports have revealed that the protest, which tragically turned violent, was actually orchestrated by the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Ganduje refuted claims made by the Kano State government that the APC was behind the recent violent protests in the state, accusing the Kano government of sponsoring the unrest in an attempt to tarnish the reputation of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

He expressed concern over what he described as a “reckless and irresponsible” act by a sitting governor, which he believes was aimed at destabilising Kano, undermining regional peace and security, and discrediting the President.

Ganduje called on the federal government and relevant security agencies to launch a thorough investigation into the Kano State Government’s alleged involvement in the violence. He insisted that those responsible for the unrest must be held accountable to prevent setting a dangerous precedent for other states.

“It is laughable that governance has been reduced to a huge joke in Kano State,” Ganduje stated. He dismissed the notion that protesters could have broken into a court, selectively taken documents related to his trial, and escaped without consequence as implausible in this digital age.

He further criticised the Kano State Government for what he described as a lack of ideas in governance, accusing them of resorting to baseless corruption allegations against him and his family, who he claims served the state diligently.

Ganduje concluded by saying  that the state government’s claim was a desperate attempt to deflect attention from their own responsibility for the violence that erupted in Kano.

He described the allegations as a clear indication of the state’s growing incompetence in handling both security and legal matters.
