Globacom Slashes International Call Rates To Boost Connectivity.

Nigerian telecommunications giant Globacom has announced a significant reduction in its International Direct Dialling (IDD) rates, making it more affordable for customers to stay connected with loved ones and business associates worldwide. The new tariffs, effective from 10 August 2025, offer call prices as low as ₦30 per minute to over 15 popular international destinations, providing substantial savings for both new and existing subscribers across Nigeria.

The revised rates include notable reductions to key countries. Calls to the United States now cost ₦30 per minute, down from ₦35, while calls to the United Kingdom have been reduced from ₦400 to ₦350. Similarly, the rate for India has dropped from ₦45 to ₦40. Other significant cuts include China at ₦75 per minute, Saudi Arabia at ₦300, Cameroon at ₦700, United Arab Emirates at ₦325 (down from ₦450), and Germany at ₦550.

African nations have also benefited from the price adjustments, fostering closer ties across the continent. Calls to Benin Republic and Togo are now priced at ₦650 per minute, Niger Republic at ₦750, Ghana at ₦500, Côte d’Ivoire and Libya at ₦700, and Malawi at ₦1,100, reduced from ₦1,200. These changes make it easier for Nigerians to maintain personal and professional connections across borders.

Globacom has stated that the reduced rates are part of a broader strategy to deliver greater value to its customers and position Glo as the preferred network for international calls. The company also teased the upcoming launch of new IDD bundles, which promise even more attractive deals for frequent callers. This initiative reflects Globacom’s commitment to affordability and competitiveness in the telecommunications sector.

Customers are encouraged to take advantage of these new rates to stay in touch with friends, family, and business partners globally without the burden of high costs. As Nigeria’s third-largest telecom operator, Globacom continues to innovate, ensuring its subscribers enjoy high-quality services at accessible prices.
