The Nigeria U18 women’s team has secured a spot in the semi-finals of the ongoing 2024 IHF Women’s Trophy Intercontinental Phase in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
In their opening match, Nigeria defeated Guadalupe 28-23 and followed up with another impressive performance, beating North Caledonia 29-14 in their second match to advance on Thursday.
Agboola Shittu, the chief coach of the Nigeria U18 Girls women’s team, expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, emphasizing their goal to qualify for the IHF Women’s Junior Championship 2024 in North Macedonia.
Shittu praised the players for executing the game plan effectively and emphasized the team’s ambition to win the tournament, aiming to represent Nigeria at the World Championship next June.
He stressed the importance of continuous improvement, reminding the players of the challenges ahead and urging them to remain focused on their ultimate goal of winning the tournament.
