Adding to the tension, the United Nations peacekeeping force in Lebanon reported that Israeli tanks had breached one of its positions. However, Israeli officials have disputed this account.
Emergency services across northern Israel, including helicopters, were deployed throughout Sunday evening to transport casualties to various hospitals. The Israeli military has yet to release full details, but an army spokesperson confirmed the casualties and damage sustained at the Binyamina base.
