JUST IN Multichoice Slashes Prices Of GOtv And DStv Decoders For Nigerian Subscribers

Multichoice Nigeria has announced another major price reduction on its GOtv and DStv decoder packages, making them more affordable for households across the country.

The latest slash is aimed at helping more families access premium entertainment without overstretching their budget, especially as the festive season approaches.

According to the company, the new price structure took effect on November 1, 2025. Under the revised rates, a DStv decoder now sells for 7,900 Naira, while the GOtv decoder is priced at 6,500 Naira. In addition, the DStv dish now costs 10,000 Naira and the GOtenna for GOtv subscribers is available at 3,500 Naira.

This adjustment comes after a similar reduction earlier in June as part of Multichoice’s We Have Got You campaign. During that period, DStv decoder prices were slashed from 20,000 Naira to 10,000 Naira, while GOtv decoders fell from 18,600 Naira to 9,900 Naira. The company said the continued reductions reflect its commitment to easing the cost for Nigerian subscribers.

Executive Head of Marketing at Multichoice Nigeria, Tope Oshunkeye, said the move was introduced to encourage more families to enjoy quality entertainment this season. He noted that spending time with loved ones remains a priority for many Nigerians. “This price slash makes it possible for more families to enjoy quality local and international entertainment without putting too much pressure on their pockets,” he said.

Industry observers believe the new pricing is also part of Multichoice’s strategy to remain competitive, as more Nigerians explore other entertainment platforms including streaming services. The lower entry cost is expected to attract new users and retain existing customers in the highly competitive entertainment market.

The company assured subscribers of improved content offerings across both platforms, including local movies, sports, international shows and children’s programmes. Multichoice added that it will continue to deliver value driven services that enhance viewing experiences across Nigerian homes.
