Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has issued a stern warning to individuals promoting conflict, asserting that his administration will take decisive action to hold them accountable.
Since assuming office, the state has experienced a period of relative peace and unity, and Governor Sani is committed to maintaining this positive trajectory.
In a recent meeting with the newly appointed executives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kaduna, Governor Sani commended the collaborative efforts of both Islamic and Christian groups, particularly acknowledging the contributions of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) and CAN in fostering unity within the state.
Emphasising the influential role of religious leaders in promoting peace and unity, Governor Sani urged them to actively advocate for these values among their followers. He reaffirmed his dedication to fulfilling the promises made during his election campaign, recognising the pivotal role Kaduna plays as a hub in Northern Nigeria.
Furthermore, Governor Sani announced plans to support clerics by providing vehicles to facilitate their outreach efforts across the state, enabling them to effectively spread messages of peace and unity to all corners of Kaduna.
Earlier in the meeting, Reverend Celeb Maaji, the newly appointed chairman of Kaduna CAN, commended Governor Sani’s achievements within his first year in office. Reverend Maaji specifically highlighted the Governor’s historic participation in a Christmas carol event last year as exemplary leadership.
Expressing the Christian community’s support for Governor Sani’s administration, Reverend Maaji urged for the reintroduction of Christian activities such as the pilgrims board and Bible quiz competition in the state.
