Galatasaray forward Leroy Sane has reacted to the ongoing debate comparing Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen after being asked to choose the best striker he has played with.
Football fans have continued to draw comparisons between the two prolific forwards based on their scoring records and influence for club and country.
Sane is regarded as one of the few players with the credentials to comment on the subject as he previously played alongside Kane in the Premier League and is now a teammate of Osimhen at Galatasaray. When asked to make a choice Sane refused to pick between the two stars. “I definitely will not answer that” he said with a laugh.
The German international noted that both Kane and Osimhen possess exceptional qualities that make them standout players in modern football. He added that comparing both strikers was unnecessary because of their different playing styles and strengths on the pitch. Sane explained that each of them brings something special to any team they represent.
The question came at a time when Osimhen has been enjoying an impressive run of form in the Champions League where he recently overtook Kane’s goal tally in the competition. His scoring streak continues to fuel the debate about whether he is now on the same level or ahead of the English captain in European football.
Despite the pressure to choose between the pair Sane avoided controversy by maintaining respect for both forwards. He stressed that both are world class strikers capable of changing games with their brilliance and leadership qualities. His response has further drawn mixed reactions from football fans across social media.
The comparison between the two strikers is expected to continue as their performances this season remain under scrutiny. Analysts believe that individual achievements trophies and consistency will determine who eventually wins the long term debate between Osimhen and Kane.
