Kemi Badenoch has been elected as the new leader of the Conservative Party, succeeding Rishi Sunak after a closely watched leadership race. Badenoch secured victory over Robert Jenrick in the election decided by Tory members, and she hinted in her acceptance speech that Jenrick might play a “key role” in her leadership team, signalling her intent to unite the party.
