Kwara Temporarily Relocates NYSC Orientation Camp To Ilorin

The Kwara State Government has approved the temporary relocation of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II orientation camp from its permanent site in Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area, to the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.

This decision was made following recent security concerns in the Yikpata area, which have raised apprehensions among prospective corps members and their families.

Mr. Onifade Joshua, the NYSC State Coordinator, confirmed the relocation during a press briefing in Ilorin. He stated that the move aims to ensure the safety and well-being of the corps members during their orientation program.

The orientation course is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, and will run through Tuesday, October 14, 2025. Approximately 1,800 corps members are expected to participate in the 21-day exercise.

To enhance security, armed soldiers and other security personnel will be deployed to safeguard the lives and welfare of the participants throughout the duration of the orientation.

Mr. Onifade expressed appreciation to both the federal and state governments for their intervention and support, emphasizing that NYSC Kwara is fully prepared to host the orientation course at the new location.

The NYSC management has also announced that the Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General O. O. Nafiu, has directed the Director of the South West Area Office I, Mrs. Abiodun Oluwaremilekun, to inspect and evaluate the temporary venue to assess the level of preparedness.

This proactive measure underscores the commitment of the NYSC and the Kwara State Government to prioritize the safety and welfare of corps members while ensuring the smooth conduct of the orientation program.
